We are continually looking for changes to this forum that will improve the experience of our members. What we have been looking at most recently is the structure of our categories and boards. Most of that structure was setup when we started this forum and we've come a long way. We can tell which boards are more active than others. We can see where members get the most confused over where to post. We can see where the organization can be improved. So over the coming days and weeks, you will start to see changes in the way the forum is structured. There will be some renaming, some additions, and just a few boards being removed or merged with others. It won't be anything so dramatic you won't recognize us anymore and we think you will be pleased with the changes. None of the existing content of the forum will be deleted - just moved and therefore still searchable.
The first of these changes you are viewing right now - the addition of a Forum Announcements Board. This is where we will provide our members with the latest forum updates. The board is part of the renamed category "About Our Forum" (formerly FAQ's and Questions/Feedback). We think the new name better reflects what this category is about. The FAQ's and Forum Questions and Feedback boards remain unchanged.
Keep watching this board for further updates.
Thank you for your continuing support of Photoshop Elements & More!
While we cover a range of topics, our primary focus is Photoshop Elements. With that in mind, we grouped our existing boards into a category exclusively dedicated to Photoshop Elements! A separate category has now been created to cover Lightroom and other software (more to come on this category). All things Elements can now be found under that one category.
A new category of Cameras, Equipment and Photography was created. We already had a board for cameras and one for equipment ("Accessories"). Most of the action was on the cameras board, so we merged the Accessories board into that one. We also had a lot of posts about photography and photographic techniques, so we created a new board specifically dedicated to this.
With the above changes, a couple of other small changes were made: - The Computer Issues board has been moved under the "Miscellaneous" category. We haven't changed its purpose and look to continue to have an active discussion around your computer issues. - The Mac-Specific Questions board will be retired. It wasn't that active as a many of the questions were posted on other boards. Just find the board that most fits your question or comment and post it there. The existing posts will be moved to the most appropriate board based on their content.
We hope you like the changes and stay tuned for a few more!
The Member Tutorials board has just been replaced with a Tutorials board. We didn't have many user-created tutorials and it didn't make sense to keep a board for just that purpose. User tutorials can still be shared on the new board, but Tutorials will also be the place to share tutorials you have found elsewhere.
With the creation of the "Tutorials" and "Photography and Techniques" boards, the "Links to Articles of Interest" board has been set read-only and will be shortly removed. We think most articles fall into one of the two other boards. If not, please post them in our "This 'n' That" board
Our last change (for now) and what we think is our most exciting change is the Goodies board! This board is filled with links to resources on Textures, Fonts, Brushes, Layer Styles, Shapes and so much more - organized to make it easy to find what you are looking for! We hope you find it a great resource when working with Elements or your software of choice. We will keep updating the content as we find more valuable resources.
We hope these changes enhance your forum experience and thanks again for your support!
