I've seen some amazing images where flowers are frozen in ice and then photographed.
Can anyone recommend a good tutorial for this...........and I would love to see results here...........

Hesitate to say this as don't want to suppress your enthusiasm but I had a go at this several years ago and was disappointed with the results.
I recall the problem being that the ice was full of little bubbles that made it cloudy, so you may want to take some precautions to avoid that ? Using distilled water?

Thanks Chris. I tried some last night with an ice cube tray and was quite happy with the results. Ice cubes are a small mass, so I am trying a bigger size today, but am using boiled water that I let cool. I also tried freezing just a small 'slice' of water first so the flowers would stick to the ice; however, I should have got them wetter so they stuck to the ice when I laid them on the slice. When I added the cooled, boiled water the flowers floated to the top. ........this is like a science project!

I'm also giving it a go, following the tutorial I found HEREChris, from what I've read, having little bubbles in the water is all part of the effect! I'll let you know how I get on. Bayla |

I used boiled water. But I didn't freeze it in several layers, so some of the flowers floated to the top. I like the bubbles, but not if it's just a big blur. I rinsed the ice block with cold water before taking the pictures. In my example the flower has floated to the top, so I took the picture with colored cardboard as background. (Not so very proud of it though, the flower had been sitting in the freezer for several months.)  |

...well this is from one of my ice cubes, and ahahaha............it certainly did not turn out like I envisioned it. This is a fun experiment I tried it a couple times after seeing a post from someone in the EV Challenge blog group and have one icing down in the freezer right now. srmoment I really like your ice cube version.
