Hello all,
Thank you firstly to hmca for reaching out, sorry I hadn't been able to check back sooner.
Whilst the majority of people use cubeupload for great things, often like yourself, sharing art and images where they care deeply about quality being maintained, it is unfortunately not true for everyone. Some people upload images purporting to be things they aren't in an effort to mislead people (phishing), and some people like to try and upload something which pretends to be an image but actually contain malicious code, which attempts to trick our computers.
We scan and block images that carry any risk to our system or anyone viewing them, but if an image does slip through we block it from causing harm and remove it. People like Malwarebytes, Windows and Apple computers, all take steps to ensure nothing bad ever results from these offending images, and we work along-side them to do our part.
We continue to improve our system to get rid of these people - if it's very annoying for us, I can only imagine how it must be for yourselves, so again I'm very sorry that a few people have disturbed your experience.
What has happened in this situation is that a site has picked up an individual, or number of individual images which contain malicious code and has flagged the entire URL where they were found. This has resulted in the popups you are seeing, but does not indicate any risk to yourselves:
This issue does not affect the images shared on this forum, nor the images you personally upload to cubeupload.
I really hope that clears things up and hope more that you are still confident to use cubeupload going forward. I would advise to dismiss the warnings you receive and keep enjoying your lovely images.
Gabriel,
cubeupload
p.s Lastly, just a little bit about "u.cubeupload.com" versus a regular "cubeupload.com" url - Put simply, "U" stands for user, and it's where we store the images you upload. When you are on the regular cubeupload.com site it is simply fetching the images from "u.cubeupload.com" and displaying them. If you aren't logged in then your images are stored on "i.cubeupload.com"
