What could be more Australian than golden wattle? What is a wattle? Pretty colour. Are those flowers or fruit? Nice. Golden wattle is the national flower of Australia, Acacia Pycnantha. The flowers are tiny golden orbs of fluffiness that smell very sweet, and the trees are well suited to dry conditions. The best part is that they are in bloom now and provide a lovely touch of colour to brighten up the landscape while I wait for Spring to begin.

Great to read about these ducks, I'm sure there are some in our local pond, where they make their nests on clumps of reeds out in the middle of the water. I wonder why she chose this location to nest, very open to predators I would think. I like your layout on this page, interesting background complements the subject perfectly.
