Sepiana - Yes, that's correct. Try it: do a snip without saving (don't close the snipping tool), then open PSE and choose new from clipboard. Fantastic! I didn't know you could do that either. I'm curious, though, MM, as to why you state not to close the snipping tool? As the image 'Snipped' is immediately on the clipboard, I tried closing Snipping Tool before putting into PSE and it still worked. As I said, just curious ... Many thanks for this 'new' tip Julie Julie - Yes, you're right. It occurred to me that this was probably true after I posted.

The Snipping Tool works on pretty much anything visable on your screen, except for certain drop-down menus and such.

Okay, got it. I wasn't seeing the comment box. Hey Tom - is there any way to make that element more prominent?

This may be the gods' way of also telling you to make a note of your serial numbers somewhere.

Actually, as soon as you use the Snipping Tool it is on the clipboard, so there's no need to save the image to the desktop.

Too late now. The cat's out of the bag, as it were.

Thank you all for the good wishes.
I have to admit this is the first forum I've ever been on where my birth date is public. So I'm really not used to this. But thanks again.

Some great interpretations, everyone!
Mike - your creation is full of menace - and imagination! Janice - yours made me smile - especially since one of my cats looks just like that! Sepiana - the triptych technique is a wonderful touch for your image - I love the texture too.

Tom -
Thanks for the note - it made me realize that somehow the wrong date got in there. It's really the 24h. So actually you're early!
