Started out by colourizing using the neural filter in PS and then used generative fill to add the bonsai tree and sleeping cat: Tony

I'll go with trees as this is a good time of the year here to see them at their greenest. Here's one really old gnarled tree that still has some life left in it = and it's rumoured locally to be haunted! Tony

We were at 99.3% with few clouds overhead and it was quite eerie with the birds, which had been noisy, going silent for several minutes. Took a few photos of shadows which were a bit different than normal. The hotels in the 100% zone to the southeast of us certainly did very well out of it. Lots of stories about crazy prices.

Passing by the railroad yard today which is always a good spot to find stationary graffiti. Not a lot to choose from today but here are a couple. Tony

Pattern created on sidewalk by sun shining through tree leaves during partial solar eclipse in 2017. The small openings among the leaves act like a pinhole camera. Note the shape of the sun eclipsed by he moon. A very timely example - I'm in a location where next Monday's eclipse is going to be over 99% so will hopefully get to see it although the weather forecast isn't currently ideal! Tony.

Great topic and accompanying article, Tony. Looking through the archives these two caught my eye. Should be a fun challenge. Excellent examples to get the theme started! Tony

Somewhat related to last months Abstract Challenge I picked Patterns for this months B&W Challenge Once you start looking, patterns are everywhere and just require "a keen eye for symmetry, repetition, and texture" to quote from Pattern in Photography which gives some good examples and is worth a quick read. So for this month the challenge is to look for patterns that work well in black & white . They can be found in nature, architecture, around the home and often in places you might never have thought to take a photograph. So look around and show us what you see! Here are some examples from a look through my archives. The table top of an outdoor table: Cracked asphalt paving: Looking forward to seeing the black and white patterns you find. Tony

April is when the male goldfinches change from their drab winter colour to bright yellow and black to attract females - this one is halfway there. And it's also the month when the grackles arrive in quantity and strut around bullying smaller birds while consuming vast quantities of bird food! Tony

This is getting addictive! Continued by removing the tower thing in the foreground (with generative fill) took it into Topaz Studio 2 and applied an effect called misty (for some reason) which added some detail to the mountains. Finished up with a vignette and a Jodi layer style frame. Tony

One more - similar approach as before but tried to brighten up the mountains and take out more blue - maybe a bit too bright considering it's moonlight! Did create more noise in the process but used Topaz Photo AI towards the end and that seemed to work. Tony
