Wow Clive, congratulations it seems that you are not only ultra talented in your beautiful photography but also with a brush ...... oh how I wish I could do that, but sadly it was the one subject that I failed miserably at school. Please pick up your brush again.
Lilias I love your shadow box, the colours blend so well and it makes a very warm and comforting picture .......I can see this hanging on your lounge wall. Thank you for explaining your method.

Thanks for this Lillias, your explanation is brilliant as always. I must admit that I have always just used the PSE dropped shadow, but your last leaves image looks amazing. I must give it a try as soon as I have the time to play again! I have been absent for a while as we are packing up our home and putting it on the market. We will be moving to Far North Queensland and the tropics eventually. We knew this would be a big job but it is proving to be even bigger that we anticipate.

Wow Lillias, this is lovely. I love how you used the cool colours and then gave warmth and softened the mood by the pink/mauve blending at the front. Beautifully constructed

You are right I am unable to get to the Preset Manager so I tried your second option
I navigated to username but there was no AppData so I searched for that and when it came up I proceeded through Roaming\Adobe and then the only thing that came up was Flash Player ..... no Photoshop Elements I searched in Adobe for Photoshop Elements but got a message ...no items match your search
So again I have hit a brick wall
So frustrating
Incidentally when I loaded the pattern file I just did it from the pattern / drop down box / load pattern ........ I didn’t open the Preset Manager ........don’t know if that helps?

Thank you so much for your help, however, I went into Presets\Patterns but the file in question was not there. I think I may have mislead you when I said that I installed the patterns ... in actual fact I just loaded them (as I would with brushes) . Sorry
So I am still not able to open PSE2018 Editor ............any more ideas please

Thank you both so much for your help and suggestions.
I bought the patterns from Creators Couture and just loaded it.
I will try to delete them as Sepiana suggested. To do that, do I just go to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2018\Presets\Patterns
select the appropriate file and press delete or do I have to uninstall them( as you can see I know nothing about what goes on at the heart of my laptop!)
thank you again for your patience I really appreciate your help

Can anyone please help me,? I am using PSE 2018 with Windows 8.1 2 weeks ago I installed quite a large pattern file (about 50 patterns) and everything worked perfectly. I had to wait to close down my laptop as It was doing an update, think it was a windows one. The next day I was unable to open the editor and got this message I tried waiting but nothing happened, I closed the message but still nothing happened. I made a shortcut to desktop but got the same message when I tried to open from it. I then tried to open the program as administrator but when it asked if I would allow the program to change my computer I panicked and pressed no. Should I try again to open as administrator and press yes and if that works what do I do then Should I uninstall and then reinstall as I have the discs .....I would really appreciate any suggestions from you clever people out there as I really have no idea what to do? The Organizer opens without a problem as does PSE11
