I would like to permanently add brushes to an existing brush set. I am working on a desktop PC w/Windows 10 and Elements.

Welcome lapul, Others will be better able to help you. I've done it but had to follow instructions. Will these be brushes you have created, like a © stamp? Or will they be imported brushes? Clive

Hi lapul, welcome to PSE&M! Glad to have you here. Brushes (.abr files) are stored in the Brushes folder in Elements (either brushes you create or third-party ones you download). If you want to permanently install brushes in Elements, just copy/paste the .abr files in the Brushes folder. The path you need to navigate to get to the Brushes folder will vary depending on which version of Elements you have (32-bit vs 64-bit). PSE 12 and earlier (32-bit):C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\Presets\Brushes PSE 13 and above (64-bit):C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\Presets\Brushes

I would like to permanently add brushes to an existing brush set. Hi lapul I believe this video by George Peirson of 'How To Gurus' may be of assistance to you as he shows how to move brushes around from one set to another and also create and save your own custom brush set/s.

this video by George Peirson of 'How To Gurus' Thanks Lillias. I had watched this video before, but viewed again now. If I watch it enough times, one day, I might remember the process. I create new © stamps (brushes) every year and have to relearn how to save them. Clive

Clive I'm actually glad that lapul asked the question as I have tried a couple of times to create a custom set of favourite brushes with varying rates of success. This time I determined I was not going to fail and so searched for an answer that would work for me. I can’t say the process is the most intuitive one but at last I have managed it. Since my previous post here I have come across another video which I found helpful when it comes to using the Preset Manager for adding brushes to a set. It’s for Elements 9 so the look of the Preset Manager has changed somewhat since then but it gives the general idea which helps. That video can be found Here
