I'm on board with Dennis - looking up - and Tony - spring flowering trees. I just wish I the camera could capture the fragrance of this lilac, too.

First, I want to thank Helen for selecting this image. Second, I applaud all of you for your submission and your attempts to 'energize' this image. This was taken a number of years ago but I never did anything with it. I must say that I enjoyed all of the edits but I can only pick 3, so...
Tony - your edit is bright, colorful and brightens the foreground of the cabin Helen - The B/W effect with a slight blurred vignette is perfect for this cabin Frank - the rich, bright colors against the darker blue sky focuses ones attention to the old structure.
Again, thanks all for your contributions.
Jim

I stayed with PSE7 well past the time to upgrade, basically for the same reason you described. However, I decided to forgo the predefined tags of People, Places, and Events and continue to use those tags that I had been using all along. Your existing tags are in your metadata and, if necessary, you can recreate them in the new version of Organizer. It's a little extra work but well worth it.
Before you upgrade, export your tags from PSE9 then import them in the newer version.
Good luck.

I'm not sure if you would call this "minimalist" but it might fit.

Step 2 before step 1, this time. Sketch effect then blend with the original. Merged together then used the litho effect. Finally, added the frame. Jim
