Hi maghdalena , When you come to do the text you could always cover up the bits of the font with boxes the same colour as the background which you then take away as you animate - this might be easier than drawing the font from scratch using lines Mark

Just to add to Janice's solution, make sure 'Contiguous' is ticked in the paintbrush 'Tool Options' otherwise all like coloured shapes will change when perhaps you were only intending to change one shapes colour.

Firstly thanks to Helen for organising and coordinating Image of the Week. This is my first time judging and I have really enjoyed it. Sorry I am a day late posting this. My shortlist is alexr with : Inside the Basilica di Santa Croce, Florence. It is so hard to take decent pictures inside cathedrals and churchs that convey what the eye sees when you are there yourself. Alex has pulled off a beautiful HDR image with the stonework, pews and stained glass windows all perfectly visible without being overcooked. angelag with ‘Textures added via Topaz Texture Effects’ This pink flower works really well against the background even though the shades across the whole image are so close, I would never have thought to make my background so close to the image colour so they almost merge but I think it looks super. Wendy with Sunrise on Chester Road The lens flare you have added Wendy is inspired and has made this picture pop, I would have (mistakingly) cropped the sky out but you have taught me to think again about different ways to process my images. …my Image of the Week goes to:drjoerogers with Still standing tall. I have tried so many times to get a decent sketch effect using PSE and I think this is brilliantly executed from the subject choice to the slight amount of blended sky this looks great.

Hi, If it wasn't for this challenge I would probably of passed by these goldfinches on a telephone line above my head: Mark,
Glad you captured them! Interesting post-processing. However, I would love to see the shot without any "special effect".
Hi Sepiana, Here it is:

Yikes mrkrnbrd ! That is quite a contrast between the delicate subject and the spiky frame! True Tom, I wanted to use a 'proper' shape rather than a crop shape/border style, it took ages to find the right one but it definitely adds impact - the original photo had a drab green background so your tut inspired me to remove as much of that as possible.

Recently I found that masking in something like the shrubbery with very irregular edges becomes easy when I use one of the Spatter Brushes. I have also used that method instead of making fussy selections. Others may know this already, but I never saw it mentioned anywhere. Rita Love this tip - this will save me hours - thanks Rita
