Greetings to all - within the last 6 mos I have switched over to back button focusing and after trials, errors, and mindset change have totally embraced it. I noticed in another thread that someone had tried it but ended up with all blurry photos. I would be interested in hearing other people's take on this way of focusing. ~bruce.

I would like to add a #7 - use back button focusing. It takes a bit to get used to it - but have never looked back. ~bruce.

CC - you pay monthly fee but also get full fledged Photoshop - approx. 120 bucks a year - and you are stuck with them. If you decide to quit the monthly fee - you don't have any programs - you lose access to Lightroom and Photoshop - nothing will be on your computer. If you go CC - you get all the updates. With DVD - you purchase and you get some of the updates but not all. Case in point - they added a dehaze filter to Lightroom - but only if you have the CC version. At the same time - if you go with DVD - you own it and have it until you die or whatever. I chose the DVD because I didn't want to become a slave to Adobe and pay into their pockets for eternity (although at times I feel like I am). Between Lightroom, Photoshop Elements 14 and On1 10 - I have everything that I really need for quite some time - as far as I can tell. ~bruce.

Whats nice about this - in a number of ways - is that the price includes the purchase of ON1 Photo10, 11, etc. which is yours to keep and use. Not like Adobe which drops you like a rock if you quit your monthly payments and you are stuck with nothing as far as program is concerned. ~bruce.

I always look at the workflow for a photo starting with finding the spot. Then taking the image. Then on to post-processing. And finally the print. As she stated in the article - she can spend from 20 min. to all day working in post-processing. There is a lot that can be done in post-processing that will take an average photo and turn it into a "jaw-dropper". In a recent trip to American Samoa National Park I had both my Nikon D7100 and Olympus TG4. Both did great for what I wanted them for. But when it came to processing the images - the D7100 images were easier to work with especially if I wanted to crop and resize. A better lens and 24 vs 16 megapixels can make a difference in the end. I have a friend that thought its just wrong to process a photo so much. And then I referred him to an article on Ansel Adams and how much time he spent in the darkroom working on his images. It all comes down to "getting the image in your mind" before you shoot and then to process it to that "image". She has done a great job in processing her images. ~bruce.

After most of the day in Forum support - it seems that when I migrated from old hard drive to new SSD, that Adobe only recognized the Lightroom on the original drive and would only upgrade that one. I had to uninstall all copies of Lightroom 6 and then reinstall only on the one drive that I use as my startup. Long workaround - but at least that worked.

I have the purchased version of 6 on my Mac. When I open that - no sign of update. When I click the Creative Cloud button in the top strip on the comp - it brings up Lightoom 6.3. Where is it on my computer. I purchased it and installed but can't seem to update the computer installed version. Any help? ~bruce.

Guess it's a Mac thing then. This was On1's reply - "This is interesting. We will pass on your feedback to our development team for review. Unfortunately we do not have an immediate solution to this problem. We are aware of many performance and stability issues in the current version". I've done the latest update - now the program doesn't even open up Elements. My current workaround is just to do things via Lightroom - as I can open Elements from there. I don't like the loss of access to resize when using Elements and On1 10. Happy that I still have On1 9.5 and the links in elements for resizing that way. ~bruce.

Anyone else having problems getting from On1's Photo 10 to PSE 14? Message into On1 - they sent back to reinstall and still not able to get to PSE 14. When I click on a photo to send to 14 - it shows the metadata being worked on, 14 opens - but the photo doesn't show up. Waiting for their reply after trying their fix. Using Mac - OS 10 Yosemite. Thought I would try here to see if it was just me. I can get from 14 to Photo 10 - the link that works is under the Filters heading. ~bruce.

received a response from PET concerning their templates : "With the start of the 2 new magazines and the new website we have not done the calendar templates at this time. We will be sure to let you know if they become available."
