It may be a bit of a stretch, but the Gold eye of this juvenile Cooper's Hawk gives me just enough of the theme. He (she?) was looking for lunch today at my feeders, hoping to grab an unwary finch or junco. Didn't have any success here this time, but I expect to see more of him this winter.

These dry, Red weeds caught my eye as I was out with some new gear yesterday. Seem to fit the theme nicely.

Just an Ordinary still life, with an Orb as part of the subject. It was interesting to me because I was playing with ISO settings on my new R5, just shooting Ordinary stuff hand held in my living room. This was with the lens zoomed to 161mm, 1/50 sec at f4, ISO 16,000. No noise reduction or other processing, just cropped very slightly, otherwise straight out of the camera. I continue to be amazed as what I can do with this camera.

The Temporary nature of Man's works. This station was a busy place 25 years ago - each farmer had his own code to fuel up. Time and technology passed it by.

I don't get too crazy with my decorating... mostly just go for a moody porch to make my Jack-o-lantern comfortable, and hopefully be inviting for some Halloween spooks and goblins (aka the neighborhood kids).

Coming in at the the end of the line again. Finally found some Gold that I deemed worth shooting. The week before this challenge, I was was in the most perfect spot for it, with several shots that I really like. I didn't want to cheat the game, so I didn't post any of those shots (I may add a couple to my Gallery though). Locally we haven't had much that inspired me but I took the dog out by the river, hoping I could find a spot devoid of seasonal deer hunters. This cottonwood tree had one golden branch, so I stopped down to f16 for the starburst effect and took the shot. I added the Orton effect in PS.

Always Angles to be found in a woodland outing. And autumn is a fine time to be in the woods.
