Superhighway, circa 1920. I sometimes think about the experience it would have been, taking a long road trip when 95% of the roads in the US, outside of major cities, looked like this one.

We used this for the cover of our Christmas card in 2013. We laid out the stuff on the beach in front of our home in the Bahamas. Over the 28 years of our marriage, we used my photos several times, but I've always thought it was the best one we ever came up with. My wife passed away this year, a week before Thanksgiving, so this is posted in her memory.

Things that will soon go together.... a wind generator tower, the blade assembly lying at its base, and the crane that will make it all happen.

Morning Fog I'm going to try this - it may be a bit of a stretch, but it's certainly true around here. Morning and Fog go together. We almost never see a fog except in the morning, and almost never in the summer, but it's not uncommon the other 3 seasons. This morning we woke up to it for the first time since last spring, a harbinger of the changing season. It will burn off within the next half hour or so.

For some reason I don't see a "Like" button in the User Gallery today. I looked at several user galleries and while there are recent "likes" by others, I don't see any way to add my own. I see the comment button, and an "OK" button, but that's it.

Hopelessly late, but I knew I was going to have this opportunity this month, and water reflections are few and far between here in the area where I live. This is the "Chapel On the Rock" near Estes Park,CO.

Just for good measure, this yucca in bloom was in the same area along the railroad right-of-way as the cactus above. While this area isn't considered desert, we still have lots of native plants with a prickly disposition.

The heat wave kept me indoors for much of last week, so I didn't get around to this subject, which should have been right up my alley. So here I am a day late again. This is a Prickly Pear cactus in full bloom.... beautiful showy blossoms. In the setting where I found it, there is a lot of wild oats, making it impossible to get a truly clean photo. But this is just how it is, and it's a completely Natural presentation.
