This is the small town my sister lives in in the mountains of Colorado. I took the shot not sure just what I might end up with. Processing done in Lightroom. I didn't like it much until I added the light vignette, and then the scene seemed to jump out at me. Just thought I'd post and see if it works for anyone else, or if I'm just weird. Shot with Canon 60d, 70-200 f4 IS @ 169mm, 1/160 sec @ f8 and 400 ISO.

Harvesting dryland field corn on the high plains. Unloading the combine hopper - when the trailer is full the load is hauled to the elevator in Fleming for storage. This is a stitched panorama from 5 images. Another shot of the combine on a cutting pass. My wife is riding along in the jump seat. This is her 92 year old father's farm, land he farmed for more than 50 years, now rented out to a couple of younger 40 something guys.

Great images all. Another good week for everyone. Congratulations Judy for a dreamlike working of those daisies (at least I think they were daisies?).

Title: Down on the Farm Developed from raw in basic module, converted to B&W, adjusted color mix and split toning for B&W, then added the vignette and grain. All work in Lightroom 6.

Thanks to all who viewed and commented. A great selection for the week.
Ron, that's not a fish rising, it's a log that just breaks the surface. Not much I could do about it.

Thanks for the compliment, Sepiana.
Not a flake to be seen yet. It's been mostly in the 80's and even the mid 90's all September. We are experiencing our first cold front tonight, but that just drops us into the high 60's for one day, then back to the 70's.

Yes, it does indeed, particularly in this kind of challenge when you are supposed to take your photo during the week of the theme. I even thought I had posted this challenge on the wrong day. It gets even more confusing when you cross the International Date Line. Is today tomorrow? Or was that yesterday? I've only been across it once, on a scuba diving trip to the Philippines, and I was totally lost as to what day it was back home and what day I actually had to be prepared to fly home again. Thankfully it was a group trip and the leader was able to keep track better that I could. I did some online golfing with a guy from Australia (we had guys in the group from Germany, Spain, England, and all 4 US time zones as well as the Aussie), and I marveled at how he was always ready on the right day and time. He clearly was more with it than I was.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Actually the moon is a clean crop, the sky is just as it appears in the photo it was "borrowed " from, except that I darkened it a bit. I positioned the moon there intentionally as I didn't want to have to deal with clouds around the moon. I feel that the horizon is a bit unrealistic too, but for the purpose it is intended I think it works.
