I saw this temporary roof on a home in our road - someone is lucky enough to be having a new room and roof added.

Here are some mystery arches, which appeared last week between the tram stop and railway station at West Croydon. What have our Town Planners in mind for the latest "improvements"? Time will tell...

I took this photo this morning at my Bowls Club - it seemed to sum up the theme perfectly. Dennis

A creepy shroud of cobwebs, as revealed by the damp of a foggy morning as I began yesterday's walk.

Sepiana and Bill - your two photos are in a class of their own - brilliant!
My four creepy Hallowe'eenies came knocking at our door for their ration of goodies.

A couple of creepy things seen today - ivy creeps over a wall and a spider hovers outside our front window. Both are creepers.

Most of the contributions this week have featured the colours of nature. Doing the shopping this morning, I found the commercial colours of the season - and, incidentally, remembered to buy the store of goodies for the small army of witches and goblins we will shortly be seeing.

For my colours of the season, I have chosen autumn leaves on the ground in the local park. The trees themselves already look quite bare.

A slightly different take on the theme - I give you the name of one of our local hostelries.
Excellent entries so far! Thank you Sepiana for the constant supply of interesting themes.

My offering this week is less attractive than Brenda's, but I was inspired by seeing her peg basket.

A little past their best by this time of year, these hanging baskets are still putting on a brave and colourful show. The food was excellent too, I was told!

Not a very good photograph, I'm afraid, especially when compared to the other contributions, but I did feel it covered the theme.
Walking through woodland, we found ourselves in the middle of a Christmas Tree Factory. My shot shows (not very well) a man-made label on one of the trees - all ready to go from its natural surroundings to decorate somebody's home. An early reminder of Christmas fast approaching!

My version of perspective, the infinity point being Beacon Hill, a prehistoric hill fort on the English/Welsh border.

This small torch is hanging on the side of the oven unit in our kitchen - for a good reason. The bulb in the oven light gave up the ghost. I have a replacement bulb, but we are unable to unscrew the glass holder which seems to have "cooked" itself on to the oven ceiling and resists all attempts to unscrew it. So I now have to use the torch to inspect my pastry, etc. through the glass oven door.

Found a variety of S's on today's walk. Steps descend steeply into one of the dry valleys along Plumstead Common in south east London - they are called Slades, as indicated by the Signpost. Further west, just south of the Thames Barrier is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific interest) called Gilbert's Pits, where, as a result of quarrying for sand and gravel in former times, the geological Strata are exposed for all to see and admire.
