Fun theme and one where you could likely take a pic and then find a cliché to fit using the helpful search on that webpage - which is what I did with this one. I'll go with "Get the Ball rolling" or it could be "Grin and Bear it" Carving of the stump of a dead ash tree by a local chainsaw artist - quite a few around thanks to the emerald ash borer. Tony

Out for an early morning walk - nice to see shadows from the trees and no rain for a change. Tony

Opened the back door today and had to grab a phone and take a pic - a quite harmless Eastern Gartersnake sunning itself. For close-up depth of field you can't beat a phone camera with its very short focal length! Tony

One more - a popular entertainment is watching the activity on the river (that separates the US from Canada here). The weather wasn't cooperating and these were the only hardy souls in the area where there are usually folk fishing and boats cruising. At least they could keep an eye on the US - so near but with the current border restrictions so far! Tony

cjt Please send your rain our way. We've had the same amount ... but in the past 10 weeks since MAY 1! Just 17 mm (well under one inch) in the past month. Bone dry here and hot. Having the opposite problem here - the wheat harvest started briefly 10 days ago and it's been raining off and on since - so a lot of farmers trying to forecast the weather over the next week (which isn't encouraging) This was taken today (in the rain)

Not quite sure what entertainment went on in this building in the early days (I believe it dates back to the 1890's) but I've known it as a storeroom for the local theatre and more recently was repainted and acquired new doors and is being used as a rehearsal hall - so still being used for entertainment ... I'm really impressed with the results everyone is getting using the Find Edges filter. Well done all and keep them coming. I might have to try some more!

Suprised no one has posted a waterfall yet as they are usually good for showing some motion. Here's a small falls taken in the fall - camera hand-held on a rock 1/10th sec exposure - converted in Silver Efex Pro 3 . More water in motion anyone? Tony

Not feeling very imaginative so when in doubt as to what to do I try spiralysing (with Photospiralysis) - after playing around with that I then took it into Topaz Studio 2 and used a Dream Time filter and finished up with a Filter Forge Photo Frame. The lazy man's way of trying to be creative Tony

First home-grown tomato of the year picked today - weighing in at just under 1lb . A very tasty heirloom variety - Brandywine

Another nice idea, Tony. I like how you have matched the tones in the image. Thanks Helen - used my standard method for matching tones - take it into Camera Raw and apply a profile - in this case one of the Modern ones worked. Tony

Passing by a local park that is recovering from the emerald ash borer destroying most of the trees - the pollinator planting is looking good and got a new sign ... Tony

Was on duty at a local historic village open-house today so tried for a picture at the one-room schoolhouse. Lighting is always tricky there but this was one of the better days Tony

Went to Deep Cut Gardens today. I have been there many times but have never seen so much in bloom, and not dried out, in the garden with the fence around it. For my second picture I was once again thinking of Tony's quest for symmetry. Love that symmetry - thanks for thinking of me! Tony
